Things I Love: The Emma clutch... need I say more?

I think I'll start a section on my blog title "Things I Love".  So every once in a while when I see something I can't stop thinking about, I can blog about just because I LOVE it!! :)

Okay, I was browsing around on the Internet the other day and just decided to pop over to the Kate Spade website.  I love purses, and I especially LOVE their purses, and so I am always on their site just looking.  Well, I was looking around and I saw this....

I am completely smitten!!!

I almost stopped breathing..... I could not believe my eyes....  Kate Spade has made a clutch that looks like a Jane Austen book!!!  It's my 2 favorite things mingled together, and it is perfect!! I have had a "perma grin" since I discovered it.  I am constantly on the internet looking at it. I have been day dreaming about how much fun I could have carrying this around.

This is what the inside looks like.  I love that the stripes on the side make it look like pages in a book. SO cute, and fun! :)

But... here comes the best part.....

This is the what the back looks like!  How awesome is it that they have the moment that Emma realizes that she is, in fact, in love with Mr. knightly written on the back?!?!  I almost fell off my chair!  This is my dream come true.

I am a total book nerd first of all, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read.  I am horribly obsessed with Jane Austen.  I have all of her books, and I read them over, and over, and over again.  I am the girl that carries a copy of Pride and Prejudice in my purse all the time, just because I love having it with me. Yes, I really am that cheesy!!  :) I love to sew and quilt in my spare time and Jane Austen movies are always playing in the background.  I should have been born 200 years ago.

I instantly knew I had to blog about this.  This is something that is 100% me, all the way.

I hope this makes you smile as much as I am smiling right now!  :)

Camping at Grassy

We went camping a few weeks ago with some of our good friends at a place called Grassy lake.  It was so beautiful and so fun.  There are these dirt roads that lead you all over the mountain to tons of different lakes. I could have spent a month there.  It was so nice to just get away from everything and be surrounded by nature.  It was good for my soul!

Carter caught, and reeled in a fish all by himself for the first time ever.  He was so excited!!!  I couldn't get the video of him to load onto my blog (I am terrible with stuff like that), so the link to it on YouTube is here.  Watch it, you will laugh at him.  He was so excited and so funny to watch.

The kids also caught a water snake that they all loved.  It was like a little camp pet.  They had so much fun that that creepy, little snake.  The girls even named it Princess Celestia, or something like that. Bug especially loved it.  She is such a tomboy!  :)

There was a big rain storm, and so we all headed in doors.  The girls ended up in our trailer playing card games.

Mr. Blue Eyes camped out under the covered hammock during the storm.  He was completely happy.

The boys all got together under the canopy during the storm and started making "flies" for fly fishing.

After the storm the girls warmed up a little by the camp fire.

Just because we were camping that doesn't mean we had to miss pizza night.  We made pizza in the dutch oven for the first time and the kids loved it!  :)

One day we headed up to another lake called Pete's Hole.  It was so beautiful up there.  I couldn't get enough of this view.

Little Miss and I hanging out.

We did a lot of fishing!!! Mr. Blue Eyes caught the "fishing bug" that first night and didn't want to do anything but fish for the rest of the time.  J is beyond excited that his little man shares his obsession!

Bug reeling in a fish.

Little Miss reeling in a fish.

Our good friends, chillin by the lake!!!

We also did some swimming in the lakes as well.  The kids all had a blast!!

If you look really close, Little Miss and her friend are way out in the middle of the lake.  The swam out there all by themselves.  Bug was completely grossed out, and freaked out by the weeds in the lake.  It's so funny that she spent days playing with a snake, but she didn't want to have anything to do with the weeds in the lake. :)

We were finally headed home, and we stopped for ice-cream.  We had a blast on this trip, we will definitely be camping here again in the future.

I love being able to ditch reality and just get away with my family.  It was a little piece of heaven on earth.

July Birthdays

My birthday and Bug's birthday are only 2 days apart.  So when we go to my mom's house for the 4th of July, we usually do a party for all of the July birthdays.

This was the greatest Day of Bugs life.... She finally got her American Girl Doll from Grandma.  The doll she was given is Ruthie, and Bug loves her because she has brown hair and eyes just like her.

Little Miss has the American Girl Doll Kit, and Ruthie is Kit's best friends.  The girls were so excited to both have their dolls to play with.  There are two sets of best friends in this picture!  :)

This was Bug's actual birthday at our house.  Here are her presents ready to go for her the night before.

Bug on her birthday morning!!! Balloons, presents, and all the magic that comes with your birthday when you are little.

Bug Hula Hooping.... She kept insisting she knew how to hula hoop and I didn't believer her.  She had been begging for a hula hoop for several months and we finally got her one for her birthday.  She totally knew how to hula hoop!!! It was crazy!!! We timed her, and she finally asked after 5 minutes if she could just stop because she was getting tired.  :)

Can you tell she is completely smitten with Ruthie?  Both got new dresses for her birthday so we had to have a picture of Bug and Ruthie in their new dresses!  :)

Bug is 100% my daughter.  She is completely addicted to cheetos!! It's all my fault, I take all the blame.  I refuse to buy cheetos, and cheese balls because if they are in my house I will eat them ALL!! She has been asking for cheese balls all year long and I kept telling her "maybe on your birthday" just to get her to quit asking. She remembered and reminded me several times the week of her birthday to make sure I didn't forget.  So here she is, completely happy with a big bowl of cheese balls on her birthday!

Her Dolphin cake!!

Her birthday dinner was spaghetti and garlic bread.

The cutting of the cake.  She was so excited!!

She wanted the biggest piece, so J made sure to cut her an extra big piece.  Her smile says it all!!  It was a good day.  Bug turned 6.... I can't believe it... where did the time go?

Now for my birthday... there aren't a lot of pictures.  Usually I'm the picture taker, so I wasn't really taking pictures of myself.  Also, I didn't really have any gifts to open.  The tent trailer was my gift this year from J, and my mom had given me my gift a few months earlier, so my birthday was all about the food!  I just love junk food, especially doughnuts!! :)  Doughnuts are my FAVORITE treat ever... and these amazing looking doughnuts are the very best.  They are highly addictive, and so I only allow myself to have these once or twice a year.  On Mothers Day, and my birthday.  :) This is pure heaven in a box!!

Yes.... I turned 31.... I feel old!

Okay, I'm throwing this picture in here.  This quilt on my bed was my birthday present from my mom.  I LOVE IT!!! These blocks are all hand embroider. My Great Grandma Davis worked on some, my Mom worked on some, and I worked on some.  I love quilting, and I love hand made blankets.  This one tops any blanket I could ever make or have.... 3 generations have worked on this quilt and I will treasure it forever!!!

4th of July and Camping at Bear Lake 2013

For the 4th of July this year, we headed up to Logan for the fireworks on the night of the 3rd, and then he headed off to Bear Lake to finish off the weekend.  We had so much fun.

Here we are waiting for the fireworks to start.
Carter and Mason had fun playing ball with the ball that J made out of glow sticks.

Hanging out with Grandma, Aunt Missy and Uncle John.

Me and J..... Aren't we so cute?  :)

Bug and Little Miss playing with glow sticks.

Mr. Blue Eyes and J snuggling and watching the fireworks.

Bug and Grandma.

Okay, I love this picture.... This is our new Tent trailer!!!  :)  Okay, well it's not technically new, but it is new to us and I love it!!! I have wanted one for forever, and so I finally talked J into letting us get one. Since we bought it only a few weeks before my B-day, it ended up being my present, and I was totally fine with that.  As weird as it sounds, this has been one of the best B-day presents I have ever gotten.

This was our first camping trip of the year and we had so much fun... I almost didn't want to come home.  We did a lot of riding scooters and going on walks....

Sitting around the camp fire...

and taking time out to relax and watch a few movies.

We did something this year that we have never done before.  We rented a boat for a few hours one day.  It was SOOOOO..... much fun.  Seriously, this will be a yearly thing for us I think.  Everyone had a blast.

We rented a banana tube. This picture is Little Miss, Bug, and I being pulled behind the boat.  It was a blast until J tipped us over and the girls freaked out..... They were seriously traumatized. So, the banana tube lasted all of 30 minutes of the 4 hours we had our boat rental for.  No one wanted anything to do with it after that...  Oops!  :)

J had a turn on the tube before we just took it back in so we could do some other boating activities.  He was standing up on it, and doing all sorts of crazy stuff.  At least J and I had fun on the tube. :)

The girls recovering from (according to them) their near death experience. Although, they were both wearing life jackets and perfectly safe the whole time. :)

Next we went water skiing.  J was so good at it.  He popped right up every time and could ski for forever it seemed like.  Notice there are no cool pictures of me skiing. Why?  Because I was the lamo that couldn't get out of the water.  I have wake boarded and done fine, but for whatever reason, I couldn't get out of the water with these ski's.  Oh well... I did try.

We spent the rest of the day, swimming, eating lunch, and driving around.  After the trauma had worn off a little, the girls had a blast.  Little Miss loves the water and had no problems swimming around.  Bug however was not about to get into the water again after her initial "dunk" off the tube.  We had to bribe her with whatever she wanted from the dollar store just to get her in the water for a little while.

Mr. Blue Eyes wanted nothing to do with the deep water, so he just hung out on the boat, eating and laughing at everyone else being crazy in the water.

After we finished swimming, we let everyone have a turn driving the boat.  They thought that was the coolest thing ever!  :)

As we were headed back in, I looked back and noticed that Mr. Blue Eyes was totally asleep, sitting up in the back of the boat.  You know that is the sign of a good trip! :)

On our last night of camping, there was this huge thunder storm that rolled through.  He hung out in our trailer watching movies....

Playing games....

and making silly things with glow sticks.

For our first trip of the summer, and our very first trip in the trailer, it was 100% successful!  :)
